Happy birthday! Today, right? It's Monday, yay 🥳🎉🎂
I've also wanted to tackle House of Leaves for a while but find it daunting. It's one of a handful of weighty tomes that I think I'll approach when (or if?) the time is right.
I'm afraid I can't offer any insightful comments about Sabrina Swift.
Remind us where your hometown is (and where you were before) - I'm assuming one of them is Bucharest, is the other...Cluj? I'm just guessing blindly, but I feel like you've mentioned this before.
Today, yes, thank uuu!! 💃 Big city is Timisoara, hometown is Lugoj, which is close by. Our only claim at fame is that it's Bela Lugosi's birthplace. Cluj I've never been to, strangely. Bucharest I don't like much.
You must be furious with me for mixing this up and having the audacity to assume Bucharest was involved. I can only offer my sincerest apologies.
I never made it to Timisoara on my trip to Romania in 2010 (sorry, again).
Otherwise, I enjoyed my stops: Sibiu, Sighișoara, Brasov and Bucharest. I even wrote about them on my super old blog. Maybe I'll dust them off one of these days - I have around (at least) 10 Romanian subscribers after all 😉
A lot of random entries so you will get a lot of random thoughts:
- I wish your dog all the best and lots of health
- noticing that you need to log off is an important skill that I also try to cultivate
- yes, oftentimes the takes that show on "my" end of political spectrum are so wild that I also go into a weird state of questioning whether those people are for real (hey, maybe they ain't)
- I hate that the AI made both fraud so easy and also affected genuine art in that people immediately doubt whether anything is real, even when they don't have any reason to think it's not (or better yet: you get afraid of openly admiring an artist because "what if they're an AI-fraud and I will embarrass myself by showing my appreciation")
Random is the perfect word to describe these recaps, haha. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!! I'm annoyed about the AI thing as well. As for the logging off, I don't always suceed either, but I'm trying.
damian rice!! i also forgot that he existed!!! thx for the reminder, off to listen to the blower’s daughter.
loved season 2 of nobody wants this and also finished it in one sitting! decided i need to do a rewatch and process more before writing about it though hehe.
He comforted us all haha! And yes, I want to rewatch Nobody Wants This too at some point. I tend to gloss over stuff when I binge. It was very pleasant, tho!!
Adding She’s a Lamb! to my TBR list immediately! Also loved The Compound and how the main character was essentially useless and okay with it lol. We need more mediocre people representation in media!
I'm so happy you loved Your Monster and Heart Eyes! You mentioned it in your other post, but they're both such good comfort movies in different ways.
Thank you!! I hope you like She's a Lamb! I love reading about imperfect women ❤️ And I appreciated how the chick in The Compound was very aware of her shortcomings and such.
